(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The two Shiite religious leaders exchanged views on the situation in Bahrain, and the plight of the Muslim population of that country late Saturday.
Ayatollah Sistani prayed and wished the situation would improve for the Muslim population of Bahrain, and stressed efforts to maintain unity among the Islamic ummah.
The Bahraini leader, Sheikh Issa Qassem, for his part, described Grand Ayatollah Sistani as 'father of the Islamic ummah', and thanked him for his special attention to the affairs of Muslim Bahrianis.
With the tightening of the crackdown on the opposition, and escalation of protests and demonstrations inside Bahrain, the regime of Ale-Khalifa has threatened Sheikh Issa Qassem.
